The new bible study course “Believe” begins Thursday March 31st at 9:30am If you need more information contact Judy Martin or Vicki Andros. First Friday movie night is April 1st at 6:30pm. This month’s movie is “When the game stands tall”. There will be free popcorn, and drinks. Come and enjoy a night of good family fun and fellowship. There will be a discussion time after the movie. Faithworks will be at our Church on April 9th to help spruce up our Church. Everyone is welcome to join in on the much needed building maintenance work. Come and fellowship with Mission workers from all over Northern Arizona. We will start at 8am. Monday at 6:30pm the Cubs Scouts will meet and on Tuesday from 1-3pm the Not Sew Perfect Quilters will meet.

Kids remember 9am on Saturday March 26th we will be coloring eggs for the egg hunt on Resurrection Sunday. We will also be decorating cookies and playing games. Sunday morning there is an Easter Sunrise service at Lost Canyon (Young Life) at 6am. The youth group sponsored by Mike Combs will be serving a pancake breakfast beginning 7:30am. At 9am the kids will have their Easter egg hunt before worship begins at 10am, make sure you bring your Easter basket. Good Friday services will begin at the East end of town (Grand Canyon Blvd) and proceed to the Family Harvest Church at Grant Street and 7th Street, where Community Worship services will be held. Saturday the men’s ministry will meet at 7am. Sunday the Adult Sunday school class meets at 8:45am, 9:50am prayer before Worship with Worship and Young Disciples Church at 10am, followed by Fellowship at 11:30am. Holy week begins Sunday March 19th. Palm Sunday will be celebrated with the tradition of Palms being given to each attendee during worship service. Holy Thursday worship is at 7pm in the sanctuary. Good Friday community worship service will be at Family Harvest Church at 6pm. The kids will have an opportunity to color eggs and decorate cookies on Saturday morning March 26th at 9am. Other activities are planned for the morning also. Don’t forget Easter Sunrise services at Lost Canyon at 6am. You then can enjoy a pancake breakfast beginning at 7am in the social hall, sponsored by our Methodist youth. Community United Methodist Church is a community minded congregation. This Thursday March 17th the Sisters in Spirit will host their annual St Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage dinner. Doors open at 5:30pm and they will serve until the food is gone. A festive evening is

planned. A free will offering will be accepted. A community wide Good Friday service will be hosted by Family Harvest Church on the corner of Grant and 7th St. from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. Kids keep Saturday morning March 26th open to color eggs, play games and decorate cookies at 9am in the church fellowship hall. The colored eggs will be hidden by the Easter Bunny for a Sunday morning egg hunt at 9am before worship service. Kids bring your baskets to fill. The annual Sunrise pancake breakfast will be served, starting at 7:30am on Easter morning (Resurrection Sunday) March 27th. Beginning Thursday March 31st a new Bible study course. “Believe” will be offered to all women. The class will meet at 9:30am and is open to all women.

WOW was the response given after several of Pastor Billy’s comments Sunday. The title of his message was “Jesus asks, “Can I get a Witness” His challenge was, will you be a witness?

Spring cleanup day was set for Saturday March 12th starting at 9am. It’s time again to clean, repair and fellowship. All three things can be done at once! Valentine’s Day was celebrated with a special potluck with lots of Valentine type desserts. If sweets could set us free and help us forgive each other, WOW! Pastor Billy’s message was titled “WOW! What a Great Example of Forgiveness”. Lent officially began Ash Wednesday. Gods calling all of us to celebrate the Lenten season so that we are prepared for Resurrection Sunday.

Community Worship Service this month is at the Galilee Baptist Church on February 28th at 6pm. First Friday movie will be on March 4th at 6:30pm with discussion to follow. Ash Wednesday begins the Lenten season for Christians all over the world. Come honor our Lord with your presences. 7pm worship will ready us for the 40 day journey. We will star our Lenten journey in place of Recharge this week but we will continue our Recharge study of the book of John next week. Sunday morning Kyra and Gavyn lite the “Candle of Miracles”. This lighting reminds us that not only do miracles happen around us every day but that every day we are called to show God’s miraculous love to others. Ladies, come to be honored at the annual soup luncheon held each December to thank the women of our community who give so much to make this community what it is. The luncheon will take place on Wednesday, December 16th from 11am to 1:30pm. There will be homemade soup homemade rolls and Christmas desserts all served with smiles and good wishes. Come and enjoy. The annual Church Conference was held Sunday November 15, 2015 and was presided over by our North District Superintendent Dan Marley, Jerry McGuire, the North District Lay Leader was in attendance also.

The Community Ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve worship service will be hosted by Community United Methodist Church on Wednesday November 25th at 7pm, followed by fellowship with cookies and punch served.

Decorating the Sanctuary for Christmas will be after services on November 22. The following Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent. All are welcome.

Pray, Pray, Pray, for our leaders and Children, and persecuted Christians throughout the world, was the message brought forth at the World Day of Prayer vigil Sunday. Several Churches were represented with a common goal in mind. Prayer for our children and leaders and all persecuted Christian throughout the world.

Next Sunday is Church Conference and pot luck. Pot luck will follow the Worship service and then we are invited to be in conversation with our District Superintendent and District Lay Leader.

We would like to thank our neighbors and friends who came by the Williams Community United Methodist Church on Saturday October 31st. for the “Trunk or Treat” celebration. It was a huge success and a safe place for our young people and their parents.

Jared boxes will be packed after Worship on November 8th. It’s not too late to donate to this special project. Flyers are available with information as to what is needed to fill the containers or if you can’t find any items for the boxes you can give a monetary gift and the items will be purchased.

The November pot luck has been moved from the 2nd Sunday (November 8) to the 3rd Sunday (November 15) in conjunction with our annual Church Conference.

Trunk or Treat is this Saturday! Once again a safe place for children to trick or treat will be provided by Williams Community United Methodist Church, Families can enjoy a fun evening. Candy, cake walk and yes hamburgers and hotdogs, hot Chocolate and punch will be provided. Cars will be lined up with their trunks decorated and full of treats for the kids. Starting time is 5:30pm but we are asking cars that are being decorated be lined up in the parking lot by 5pm. Contact Jennifer Cox for more details (635 2608).

“From Darkness to Light”. Let the Brightness and Light of Jesus Christ shine on us so we can shine His Light forward.

It’s almost here. On October 17th we will come in fellowship as we have fun preparing our Church for fall and winter, taking pride in our old building is a way of shining that light.

“Called to Love as We Have Been Loved”. Have we found ourselves doing this? Read Ephesians 4: 31 through 5: 2. Our young disciples continue their study of creation, Adam and Eve, and next will be Abraham and Sarah. God chooses to work through ordinary people to bless the world. Are you a blessing?

The community held a very special Revival this past weekend. Pastor Tim at Family Harvest hosted the two evening event. Guest speaker was Sandra Lewis from the Holbrook First Baptist Church. A dynamic speaker who brought God’s message in a very special way. Look out Williams, those who attended were blessed and will challenge the community to get involved. There are many Churches and denominations in this small community. Do you belong?

Lucy Adams held the 2nd annual Ladies Luncheon, “Against all Odds” sponsored by soldiers of the Cross. Robin Gutshall was the guest speaker. There were prizes, food, Worship, and teaching. Thanks Lucy. These special event are a way of showing that the Community of Williams is united in it Love for our Lord and Savior.

“To know Jesus and to make him known”, is the purpose of the community United Methodist Church. “To prepare God’s people for works of service, so the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ”, are our goals.

The scouting food drive will take place this week with bags distributed August 25th to August 28th and pickup beginning 9am, Saturday August 29th. The food collected will be given to the Williams Food Bank.

The Community Worship Service is 6pm, Sunday August 30th, and will be hosted by St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

School begins Wednesday August 5th. Our young people are important and are our future, keep them in your prayers. It’s a good time to start Sunday School too. All ages are welcome. The Cub Scouts from pack 140 is holding a food drive August 8th. Bags will be put out at homes earlier in the week. If you live out of town, you can drop food off at the Church before August 8th or take the food to the Food Bank.

Keep Friday August 7th, at 7pm open for your family to come to the “first Friday movie night”. This month’s movie is”Do You Believe”. This is a newly formed ministry to provide good movies for our community. Popcorn and drinks and the movie are free. On Friday August 14th at 7pm a discussion on the movie “Do You Believe” will take place. We have had some great discussions on the last two movies.

Tuesday from 1-3pm the Not Sew Perfect Quilters will meet. Recharge this evening, the meal starts at 6pm and the Recharge study starts at 7pm. On Thursday the Women’s Bible study will start at 9:30am. Saturday August 8th the men’s ministry will meet at 7am at the Church and Sisters in Spirit will meet at 8am at Virginia Baker’s home. Sunday,the Churches of our community assembled in worship. The Community of Churches welcomed Pastor Joe and his wife, Kelly and their two daughters to our community, and Pastor Joe gave the message. Then a celebration of worship, praise and fellowship followed the monthly ecumenical worship service.

Kids, you still have three nights to “Climb Everest, Conquering Challenges with God’s Mighty Power”. VBS is Tuesday through Friday this week from 5:30pm to 8pm. Come and bring a friend. Songs, skits, Bible expeditions, Imagine station, crafts, mountaintop treats, video cinema, and a closing “Summit Celebration” will all be part of VBS.

If you are interested in learning more about the “Walk to Emmaus”, (no you don’t really walk), there will be an informational meeting on Saturday July 25th at 5pm. We will meet at Marilyn Fogg’s home (928 853 2362). It will be a side dish pot luck, with hamburgers and hotdogs provided.

This month’s Community worship service will be Sunday July 26th at 6:30pm at the Williams Community United Methodist Church.

Kids, get ready for an exciting time at Vacation Bible School. Starting Tuesday July 21st till Friday July 24 kids will gather at 5:30pm to climb Everest. Conquering Challenges with “God’s Mighty Power”. Ages include, preschool through 6th grade.

Michael Combs gave the message on “What an Awesome God” Based on the Lord’s Prayer. We have had special messages from Michael, Becky, and Steve while Pastor Milly and Judy have been on vacation. Tonight come join in our recharge study on the book of John.

Pastor Billy is still away enjoying some much needed down time visiting family. Steve Andros brought the message “The Church has Left the Building”. The Scripture was read from Luke 10: 1-3, 16, and 23. And true to the message title Steve gave the congregation the opportunity to bless visitors on the streets by asking each member to take cookies to the street and pass out the cookies to strangers on the streets. After 20 minutes everyone returned to our closing hymn “Onward, Christian Soldier” in honor of our Countries Independences Day. What a Blessed day.

Summer is here!!!! Praising the Lord continues in many ways. While Pastor Billy is away the message was given by Becky Nelson. Her message was titled “How Great is Our God”, and music was provide my Becky using the hymn by the same title. The scripture was read from Psalms 23. This Friday the movie “Courageous” will be shown for some good wholesome family entertainment. Popcorn and drinks are provide. Show time will be 7pm. Bring the whole family. Saturday, July 4th, at 2pm, the annual Ice Cream Social will again bring the community together for some good homemade ice cream. Everyone is invited. We will have many flavors of ice cream and we will also have root beer floats. The Church monthly potluck will be after worship on Sunday July 12th.

A full house heard Pastor Billy’s Message “In Grace, Let’s Walk the Talk Together, Part 2” and Scriptures were read from Ephesians 4: 1-7. Father’s Day will be celebrated with a Father’s Day Church Picnic Sunday June 21st, following Church Service at Cataract Lake Park, at the big ramada. The picnic will be pot luck style and grills will be available depending on fire restrictions. 4th of July Community wide Prayer, will be held at the Visitor’s Center Stage from 11 AM to 12 noon. The annual ice cream will be Saturday July 4th at 1pm. Come and enjoy some homemade ice cream. There is still a need for some more homemade ice cream. The young disciples continue to study being caretakers of God’s world. The young disciples are welcome to come to Sunday school all summer long.
